Soccer in Albany is run by two separate organisations. The juniors are run by the Albany Junior Soccer Association (AJSA) and the seniors and women are run by the Great Southern Soccer Association (GSSA).

The Albany Junior Soccer Association caters for players, both boys and girls, from Pre-Primary to Year 12. Games are played on Saturdays in Terms 2 and 3 on the soccer grounds at North Rd.

Goal Keeper Training

Are you a budding keeper for the 2017 season? Then please see below regarding goal keeper clinics from our resident goal keeper coach.

Good Afternoon All,

Welcome back to another year of Football !

As most of you are aware, I am now at University in Perth so will not be in Albany for the upcoming 2017 season.

Goalkeeper training however, will still continue.

Lachlan Fehrman will now be running the training sessions in line with what our goalkeepers have learnt and developed over the past 3 years. Lachie has his FFA qualifications and has coached and played in the goalkeeper role for a number years. Lachie and I will work together to ensure the best possible outcome for our goalkeepers. I am currently working to open another training group in Perth, and have a connection between both places.

All the information will still be passed through myself, and I will be down in Albany every so often to run training sessions and holiday programs !

Our first 4 week training block will our pre-season training sessions. This will get us back into the rhythm and flow after a long break.

At this stage we will split the trainings into two groups. A beginners class that will be from 3.45pm-4.45pm and an advanced class from 5.00pm-6.00pm. (Times may change depending on numbers)

The trainings dates below are as followed:

The cost is $10 per session and will take place on the Multi-Purpose Field (Pitch TBC)

If you are interested in taking part in the pre-seasons please email me back with:

(if you are unsure of which class to go into, please let me know and I will place you into the most appropriate one)

We are super excited to get the season going again!

Looking forward to hearing from you all soon!

Kind Regards

AJSA Summer Carnival

The Albany Junior Soccer Association Summer Carnival is back for 2017.

It will be held on Saturday 21st and Sunday 22nd January 2017.

It is available for children from school years 4-9ish. If there is enough interest from kids older we will do our best to accommodate them too.

The Summer Carnival is designed to be a bit of fun during the school holidays promoting soccer in an enjoyable way.

It is not designed to be club based. That’s not to say you can’t play with the team you represented during the winter season, you just don’t have to. It is designed for players to grab their friends, maybe those who don’t play soccer during winter because of other commitments, maybe friends who want to play together but play for different clubs or even siblings or family teams who are normally separate due to ages or schools.

Most importantly it is designed around fun, therefore the association has removed the medals for overall winners (we’ll save that for our winter season) instead we will give spot prizes.

  • Team/Individual with the best custom shirts.
  • Team with the most amount of new players.
  • Team with the most amount of players from different clubs.
  • Overall winners.
  • Team that played in the best spirit etc
  • Any other spot prizes we can think of

We also need referees. If you are willing to referee please get in contact. New referees always welcome and it would be a perfect opportunity to give it a go in a relaxed environment.

Full details can be found on the Summer Competition page and the poster can be viewed here.

Places went quickly for the last two years so talk to your friends and get your team nominations in.

Individuals who can’t find a team, feel free to forward your details and if there’s enough individuals a team will be formed, no guarantees so please try to form your own team first.
